Eligibility criteria
A Subclass 407 application generally requires the following:
Approved sponsorship and nomination: You must be sponsored by an approved Australian organisation, a government agency, or a foreign government agency operating in Australia, and be nominated for a specific training program for the duration of your training.
Genuine intention: You must genuinely intend to undertake the nominated occupational training or development program, with a clear connection between the training and your current occupation or future career goals.
Relevant skills and experience: You should hold the qualifications, credentials and work experience that make you eligible for the program, typically a qualification equivalent to an Australian degree or substantial work experience.
Health and character: You must meet Australia's health requirements (which may include a medical examination) and character requirements (police clearance from every country you have lived in for 12 months or more in the past 10 years).
English language proficiency: You must demonstrate a functional level of English, typically evidenced by a test such as IELTS, PTE or TOEFL, unless exempt.
