MARN 2418576 · Registered with OMARA
A boutique Perth visa and migration practice led by Adam (Gürkan) Kocoglu MARN 2418576, a Registered Migration Agent authorised by the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA). We advise individuals, families, skilled professionals and Western Australian employers on partner, skilled, employer sponsored, student and visitor visas and Australian citizenship: onshore, offshore and Australia-wide, in English and Turkish.
Choosing a visa agent in Perth is not a small decision. You are handing someone your timing, your evidence and, often, where your family will live. This page sets out exactly who will handle your matter, how the practice works, what we do and do not do, and how to verify our registration independently before you engage anyone.
About the practice
Australian Migration Co was founded to be the visa agent Perth employers and applicants turn to for one thing done properly: clear, lawful, evidence-based migration advice in an environment that has become genuinely complicated. Australian migration law changes constantly. Criteria are amended, instruments are replaced, policy shifts without much announcement. Advice that was correct eighteen months ago can be wrong today, and a well-meaning application built on an outdated assumption is one of the more expensive mistakes a person can make.
Adam (Gürkan) Kocoglu is the Founder and Principal Migration Agent of Australian Migration Co and is personally responsible for all migration advice and case strategy provided by the practice. As a Registered Migration Agent under MARN 2418576, Adam is bound by the Migration Act 1958, the Migration Agents Code of Conduct and the regulatory oversight of OMARA. He is a member of the Migration Institute of Australia. He advises in both English and Turkish, and works with onshore clients across Australia as well as offshore applicants, including a substantial number of clients from Türkiye.
This is deliberately a boutique practice, not a volume operation. The person you speak to at the first consultation is the person who assesses your eligibility, builds your evidence strategy and prepares your application. You will not be assessed by a registered agent and then handed to an unregistered administrator, a pattern that is unfortunately common and one of the main reasons applications arrive at the Department under-evidenced.
An important distinction. Adam is a Registered Migration Agent, not an Australian legal practitioner. Registered migration agents are authorised to provide immigration assistance under the Migration Act 1958; we do not hold ourselves out as immigration lawyers, and we will tell you plainly if a matter needs a lawyer rather than an agent.
Why us
There is no shortage of choice when you search for a visa agent Perth residents can trust. What follows is not a list of adjectives: it is the specific, checkable differences in how this practice operates.
Your matter is assessed, strategised and prepared by a Registered Migration Agent from first consultation to decision. No handover to unregistered staff, no rotating case managers.
We look for the problems first: prior refusals, visa conditions, gaps in evidence, timing traps and the issues that commonly attract a request for further information, and tell you about them in writing, before money is spent.
Advice is delivered in English or Turkish so nothing is lost in translation. The legal standard applied is identical in either language, and fully compliant with Australian migration law.
Before you engage us you receive a written scope of work, a staged fee schedule and a formal fee disclosure, so you know what is included and what is not.
We act for Western Australian businesses as well as applicants: sponsorship approval, nomination, and the ongoing obligations that attach to a sponsor after the visa is granted.
If a pathway is not open to you, you will be told, at the consultation, rather than being sold an application with poor prospects. A candid assessment of “not yet, and here is why” is worth more than an optimistic lodgement.
We do not guarantee visa outcomes, and neither can anyone else. Every visa decision is made by the Department of Home Affairs or a delegate, against the criteria in force at the time of decision. What a competent migration agent can do is assess eligibility accurately, prepare evidence properly, address the foreseeable objection before it is raised, and keep you correctly informed. Any agent who promises you a grant is telling you something they are not permitted to promise.
Consultations
We offer a free, no-obligation pre-assessment call, a brief conversation to establish whether your circumstances warrant further consideration before any fee is incurred. This is not a substitute for a full consultation: it does not include a written assessment, a case strategy, or advice upon which you may rely for your application.
Where the pre-assessment indicates that a pathway may be available to you, the appropriate next step is a paid consultation, at which the substantive legal assessment is undertaken: your eligibility, the risks specific to your matter, and a written scope of work with formal fee disclosure before any charge is incurred.
Both offerings are described plainly so that you understand precisely what you are booking. Neither constitutes, nor implies, a guarantee of any outcome.
Services
As your visa agent in Perth for employer sponsorship, skilled, partner, family and visitor visas, Australian Migration Co provides immigration assistance across the main Australian visa pathways. Each matter begins with an assessment of the options genuinely available to you, rather than an assumption about which visa you should be applying for.
Begin with a free structured self-assessment, then bring the result to a consultation.
For employers
A significant part of our practice is employer-side work. Western Australian businesses in construction, mining services, engineering, healthcare, hospitality, transport and the trades regularly reach a point where the role simply cannot be filled locally, and sponsorship becomes the sensible option. Our employer sponsored visa agent service in Perth covers sponsor approval, the nomination, the worker's visa and your obligations afterwards.
As the visa agent Perth businesses turn to for sponsorship, we act for the business, not only the worker. That means advising on sponsorship approval, preparing the nomination, and being direct about the obligations that attach to a sponsor after the visa is granted: record keeping, notification of certain events, and the conditions governing what the sponsored employee may actually do. Sponsorship obligations are where well-run businesses most often come unstuck, usually because nobody explained them clearly at the outset. We explain them at the outset.
Where a standard pathway does not fit the business, we will say so and set out what the realistic alternatives are, including the ones that involve waiting. See employer sponsorship visas for the pathways we work across, or read our practical piece on sponsoring a chef in Perth for a worked example of how a WA sponsorship matter is actually assessed.
Work visas
Most of the work visas we handle in Perth are employer sponsored: Skills in Demand (subclass 482), the Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) and subclass 494 for regional employers. We also advise on the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) and the Training visa (subclass 407).
If you are a worker with a job offer, the first question is whether your employer can sponsor the role, so we look at both sides before anything is lodged. If you are an employer, our guide to sponsoring an overseas worker sets out what your business takes on. Which work visa fits depends on the role, the employer and the current rules, and is confirmed at consultation.
Regulation
“Visa agent” is how most people search, but it is not a regulated title. In Australia, immigration assistance is a regulated service (Migration Act 1958, s 280). Only a Registered Migration Agent or an Australian legal practitioner may lawfully provide it. Preparing your own application is always your right, and for a straightforward matter that can be a perfectly reasonable choice. The risk sits in the middle option: the unregistered “consultant”, agent or education adviser who charges for advice they are not permitted to give.
| Consideration | Registered migration agent | Unregistered adviser | Doing it yourself |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lawfully permitted to advise | Yes | No | You act for yourself |
| Bound by the Migration Agents Code of Conduct | Yes | No | Not applicable |
| Accountable to a regulator (OMARA) | Yes | No | Not applicable |
| Holds a verifiable MARN | Yes | No | Not applicable |
| Must hold professional indemnity insurance | Yes | No | Not applicable |
| Written fee disclosure required | Yes | No | Not applicable |
| Recourse if something goes wrong | Yes, complaint to OMARA | Limited or none | You carry the risk |
If something goes wrong with an unregistered adviser, your avenues for recourse are limited, and the consequences land on your application, not theirs. Incorrect information given to the Department can create problems that outlast the adviser entirely.
Choosing an agent
A well-informed choice matters more to us than being the choice you make. If you are comparing agents, these are the questions worth asking of any practice, including this one.
Every registered agent has one and can provide it instantly. Verify the number yourself on the OMARA register rather than taking it on trust.
Ask whether the registered agent prepares the application personally, or whether the matter passes to unregistered administrative staff after the consultation. The answer is telling.
A competent agent will identify specific risks at the first consultation. An agent who identifies no difficulties in any matter has not examined it closely enough.
You are entitled to a written scope, a fee schedule and a formal fee disclosure before committing. Professional fees are separate from the Department’s application charges.
Ask what the review options would be and what they would cost. An agent unwilling to discuss an unsuccessful outcome has not prepared you for one.
A promise of a grant, a claimed “100% success rate”, or an implied ability to influence a decision-maker is reason to disengage. No agent may lawfully offer any of those assurances.
Our process
Every matter follows the same structure, whether it is a partner visa or a company's first sponsorship application.
Türkçe hizmet
Australian Migration Co is a Perth practice where a Registered Migration Agent advises directly in Turkish, not through an interpreter, and not through a translated document. Adam (Gürkan) Kocoglu is a native Turkish speaker.
This distinction carries real weight. Australian migration law is precise, and the precision is the point: a condition, a criterion or a deadline explained approximately is explained incorrectly. Clients who are confident in English still frequently find that discussing a refusal risk, a sponsorship obligation or a Schedule 3 issue in their first language is what finally clarifies their position.

Locations
Our office is in the Perth CBD, so for clients seeking a visa agent they can meet in person, appointments are available face-to-face as well as online. Migration matters do not require your attendance in person: we act for clients across Western Australia, throughout Australia, and offshore.
Verification
Only a Registered Migration Agent or an Australian legal practitioner may lawfully provide immigration assistance in Australia. You should check this for any adviser you are considering, including us.
Adam (Gürkan) Kocoglu holds MARN 2418576. You can confirm the registration on the public register maintained by the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA) by searching that number. If an adviser cannot give you a MARN, that alone tells you what you need to know, and it applies to every migration agent in Perth, not only to us.
FAQ
In everyday use, yes. Most people say “visa agent” when they mean a registered migration agent, but “visa agent” is not a legal title. Under section 280 of the Migration Act 1958, a person who gives immigration assistance must be a registered migration agent or an Australian legal practitioner, unless an exemption applies. Before you engage any visa agent in Perth, ask for their MARN and check it on the OMARA register. Ours is MARN 2418576.
A Registered Migration Agent assesses which visa pathways are genuinely available to you, advises on the criteria each one turns on, prepares and lodges the application, acts as your authorised representative with the Department of Home Affairs, and manages correspondence through to decision. When people search for a visa agent in Perth they usually have the lodgement in mind, but in practice the most valuable part is the assessment and the evidence strategy: the work done before anything is lodged.
Every registered agent has a Migration Agents Registration Number (MARN) and appears on the public register kept by OMARA. Ours is MARN 2418576. Ask for the number, then verify it yourself at mara.gov.au. It takes under a minute and it is the single most useful check you can make.In short: any visa agent Perth applicants can rely on will give you a MARN without hesitation.
No. Both may provide immigration assistance, but a Registered Migration Agent is regulated by OMARA, while an immigration lawyer is an admitted Australian legal practitioner. Adam is a Registered Migration Agent, not a legal practitioner, and does not describe himself as an immigration lawyer. For the overwhelming majority of visa applications a registered agent is the appropriate professional; where a matter genuinely requires a lawyer, we will tell you.
No, and no one lawfully can. Visa decisions are made by the Department of Home Affairs against the criteria in force at the time of decision. What we can do is assess your eligibility accurately, prepare the evidence properly, identify and address refusal risks in advance, and keep you informed. If an agent guarantees you an outcome, treat that as a serious warning sign.
You are not required to use one. Partner visa applications are, however, evidence-heavy and unforgiving: the difficulty is rarely the form, it is proving the relationship to the standard the Department applies, in the format it expects, without internal contradictions across your documents. Many people manage alone. Many others come to us after a request for further information or a refusal, when the position is harder and more expensive to fix. See our partner visa pages for how each stream works.
Yes. We act for clients across Western Australia, elsewhere in Australia, and offshore. Consultations are conducted by video or telephone, documents are exchanged securely, and attendance at our office is not required. Offshore applicants, including clients in Türkiye, form a significant part of the practice.
Yes. Adam (Gürkan) Kocoglu is a native Turkish speaker and advises directly in Turkish, not through an interpreter. The advice itself is identical in either language and complies fully with Australian migration law. Türkçe görüşme talep edebilirsiniz.
Professional fees depend on the visa type and the complexity of the matter, and they are separate from the Department's own application charges. We do not quote a figure until we understand the matter. Before you engage us you receive a written scope of work, a staged fee schedule, a list of exclusions and a formal fee disclosure, so the cost is settled in writing before any work starts.
Yes, employer-side work is a core part of the practice. We advise on sponsorship approval, prepare nominations, and set out the sponsorship obligations that continue after the visa is granted. We act for the business as the client, and will give a frank view on whether sponsorship is the right instrument for the role before you commit to it. See employer sponsorship visas.
Yes, and promptly. A prior refusal or cancellation can affect what you are able to apply for afterwards, and some of those consequences are time-sensitive. Bring the decision record and all correspondence to the consultation. We will advise you plainly of what the refusal means for your options, including where the candid assessment is that no pathway is currently open.
We establish the facts that change the answer (your status and conditions, key dates, history and objectives), then work through the pathways genuinely available, what each requires, and the risks attached. You leave knowing where you stand and what the realistic options are, whether or not you go on to engage us. You can book a consultation or request a free pre-assessment call first.
